TRIP DESCRIPTION
Throughout the 3 days of our trail running trip you will discover the fascinating Guadarrama Mountains National Park, a natural and cultural treasure of incomparable beauty. Here, the majesty of its landscapes merges with the rich history and vibrant culture that have marked this region for centuries.
We will take you through the amazing geological world of La Pedriza del Manzanares, where granite comes to life through unique shapes sculpted by erosion. From imposing glacial moraines to hidden lagoons, the Peñalara massif will surprise you with its incomparable formations.
But the Sierra de Guadarrama not only captivates with its natural beauty; it has also inspired artists, writers and filmmakers throughout history. From the canvases of Velázquez to the pages of great authors, this landscape has been the backdrop for countless masterpieces.
We will discover the iconic Monastery of Santa María de El Paular, the Palace of La Granja and the Castle of Manzanares, which stand out as architectural gems in this unique setting.
We will be one more in the long tradition of explorers and thinkers who have found inspiration and knowledge in the Sierra de Guadarrama. From the dawn of Giner de los Ríos' “Institución Libre de Enseñanza” to the most recent film productions, this place remains a beacon of creativity and learning.
You will return from our trip captivated by the magic of the Sierra de Guadarrama, where nature and culture merge into an unforgettable experience.
ROUTE
Day 1: PORT OF COTOS/THE PASTURES OF CERCEDILLA.
Meeting point at the Puerto de Cotos car park and start of the 1st STAGE on Friday morning.
We begin our adventure in the Port of Cotos, one of those places where the air is cooler than your refrigerator. From here, the joke is over and we ascend to Pico Peñalara, the highest point of the Community of Madrid, from where we take the path that takes us to Carnation Step, a narrow passage that makes you feel like an explorer (even if you're not Indiana Jones).
The path continues towards the Chorranca waterfall, where you can make a quick stop to admire the falling water. Don't forget to take a photo, because even though it sounds cliché, everyone does it!
Then we went into the Valsain Forests, a place where pine and beech trees surround you as if you were running inside an enchanted forest. Here, the terrain is a little more technical, but that just means you can show off your ability to dodge roots and rocks.
The next point is the Solana Viewpoint, a perfect place to stop, take a breath and think “this is worth it”. From here, the views are worthy of a postcard, so don’t hesitate to take a break.
We went through the Tirobarra Pass, which sounds much more epic than it really is, but the truth is that the views from here do not disappoint. Afterwards, we only have to go down to The Dehesas of Cercedilla, where the terrain opens up a bit more and you can relax before finishing. You've done it!

Day 2: PASTURES OF CERCEDILLA / MANZANARES EL REAL
Start of stage 2.
We go for the timeless classics of the Sierra de Guadarrama. Names like Seven Peaks, Long rope, The Pedriza and the mythical Helmet are combined with those secret corners that only our TRANSGUADARRAMA knows how to hide. And believe us, these places will not leave any of our ALTATREKERS indifferent!
Get ready, because it will be the longest day, one of those that tests both the strength and the courage of those who dare to take on the adventure. But don't worry, all suffering has its reward, and this time the spectacular awaits us. Manzanares El Real, where our route ends. A good rest after so much effort!

Day 3: MANZANARES EL REAL / PORT OF COTOS
Start of stage 3.
The last day takes us through the Porrones Mountains until reaching the mythical Malicious, with views of the entire mountain range that will make you feel on top of the world (literally). From there, we begin the climb to the Globe of the World, the last climb of our TRANSGUADARRAMA, because, of course, there is always that last climb that makes you question why you signed up for this, right?
But don't worry, because once at the top, the reward will be more than deserved. From there, we descend towards the Port of Cotos, the final point of our stage and of this incredible Tour. Three days of nature, effort, amazing views and, above all, a lot of camaraderie to end on a high note.
